Ever since he was a small child, it was always Mavrick’s dream and passion to be an artist.

Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, it was during his days as a toddler when he first picked up a pencil and began to sketch his first drawing. Over the years, Mavrick would grow in skill and vision, crafting a unique style that tells the story of how he views the world.

Influenced by anime, comics, and pop culture his art spans a broad creative reach that centers on a largely under represented group in society; black and indigenous people of color. Representation matters, and as a young black man from the southern United States it is Mavrick’s goal and dream to showcase black and brown people in creative, imaginative, and powerful ways that the world has often failed to do.

Mavrick aims to break from those harmful and stereotypical portrayals of people of color and show the world that we come in various shades and flavors with an abundance of unique experiences. It deserves to be shown in all its beauty and imperfection for the world to see.
